A dagger is not a huge but an effective weapon. It was originally used by shepherds and cattle-breeders. Since the end of the IV millennium BC, the period when Kura-Araxes culture reigned in the Armenian highlands, tanged daggers, made of arsenical bronze, were widely spread over the present territory of Armenia. Later on the daggers made of tin bronze appear. Not only in the era of the middle and late Bronze Age were the bronze daggers common in the Middle East and the Caucasus, but in the early Iron Age as well, before the VIII cent. BC inclusive.

Bronze daggers found in Armenia are divided into seven types and many subtypes. The blade of the TD006 dagger is narrow, elongated in triangular shape, but it is has got five ribs which form triangle-shape patterns embedded into one another. Among the 5 ribs the middle one is the highest one. The blade is equipped with a hilt, which is squeezed into the hilt and reinforced in a pole. The quillion is not high, and is decorated with three horizontal grooves. The hilt of the original was only partially preserved; it has been reconstructed from the extant fragments. The hilt is tracery. It is carved in herringbone ornamental pattern. Due to this kind of design of the hilt of the blade this sample differs from the daggers of this type.

The knob of the artifact has not been preserved, and was restored by the analog of the knobs of other daggers of that period. The knob of the dagger TD006 is hemispherical; it is decorated with two rows of cutout triangles. In the lower row they are arranged in the following order: at the bottom there are 8 triangles with their vertices up and at the top there are another 8 triangles curved with their vertices down. The top of the knob is also decorated with isosceles triangles with their vertices upward. These four figures form three crosses. The first is cut, and is an equal-armed cross. The second one is formed by the edges of the triangles, and the third one is linearly cut on these edges. Apparently, all these triangles have been inlaid with colored wooden plates. The total amount of the triangles is 20. Obviously, the master had divided the circle into four and eight parts. In the XI-IX cent. BC the daggers, probably, showed the social position of their owner, the warrior, and used to be a part of the traditional costume.

During the early Iron Age and Urartu period the modern territory of Armenia was called Etiuni and when the soldiers of that country joined the army of The Van Kingdom the kings were calling them “huradine”. According to the information obtained from the archaeological excavations of Artik burial places, the warrior from Etiuni, in addition to a dagger, could also carry a spear, an ax, a bow and arrows on the battlefield.
